Reddit Banned RT and Sputnik on the Platform!
The United States-based social networking platform Reddit bans the activities of Russian state-backed media organizations, especially RT and Sputnik, on the platform. In a statement, a Reddit administrator officially confirmed that all links to websites with the “.ru” extension are blocked on the platform.
Most likely, the posts of RT and Sputnik sources will either be removed from the platform or subject to access restrictions, because companies such as Apple, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Twitter and YouTube have either paused the advertisements of Russian state-supported media, removed their content and imposed some sanctions by restricting their discoverability.
It says it already rejects ads “targeting Russia or coming from any government or private organization based in Russia.” and also says it is spending money to help and house some of its staff in Ukraine.
