Microsoft Acquired ReFirm Labs to Develop Its Software!
Microsoft, one of the United States-based technology giants , officially announced today that it has acquired ReFirm Labs to improve firmware analysis and security capabilities across devices. ReFirm Labs will bring expertise in firmware security and the Centrifuge firmware platform to Microsoft. This will enhance Microsoft’s capabilities to help secure IoT and OT (Automatic Identification) devices through Azure Defender for IoT (Internet of Things).
ReFirm developers of reputable Binwalk open source software used to analyze thousands of device types for firmware security issues, uncovering unpatched common vulnerabilities and exploits (CVEs), unsecured secrets, and a multitude of other security issues. The acquisition will contribute greatly to IoT devices and embedded firmware.
