Best-Selling PC Brand Announced According to First Quarter Data of 2022
A new one has been added to the sales data announced every year for the computer market. IDC (International Data Corporation) announced some data for the first quarter of 2022. With this data, the best -selling PC brand has emerged once again.
In fact, there is not much change in the brand ranking compared to last year. But we must also add that there is a general decline in the market. You will understand this situation better when we look at the research results .
Which is the Best Selling PC Brand?
According to the first quarter data of 2022, a decline began in the market this year. In fact, due to the pandemic, working from home, etc., there was a serious increase in sales in the same quarter of 2021.
We even saw that the computer market was expanding despite stock problems. However, it was announced that 80.5 million computers were shipped in the same period this year , thus a decrease of 5-6% was observed.
Decreasing sales means that the growth in the computer market stopped with the pandemic period. For now, it seems that shipments have decreased by 5-6%, but there may be changes in these rates at the end of the year.
Let’s come to the part that really attracts attention in the data shared by IDC. Which is the best-selling PC brand in the first quarter of 2022?
According to the data, the best-selling brand was Lenovo . Actually, it is not a surprise because the same situation was valid in the previous quarter. Here Lenovo seems to have kept its place. I’m adding below how the ranking is based on the data.
- 18.3 million sales – Dominating 22.7% of Market Share – Lenovo
- 15.8 million sales – 19.7% of market share – HP
- 13.7 million sales – 17.1% of market share – Dell
- 7.2 million sales – 8.9% of market share – Apple
- 5.5 million sales – 6.9% of market share – Asus
When we look at the data, we see that the one that attracts the most attention is Apple. While the company had a market share of 8.1% last year, it has shown a growth.
While there is a decline in the computer market in general, Mac models seem to be catching on with Apple’s new M1 series processors. But as we said, we have to wait until the end of the year. We will see what the data for the whole year will be.
